Jason Lee, and died June 26, 1838; died when her first-born child was ten days old, and is buried with it in the Lee Cemetery, at Salem. The headstone of their grave bears the inscription: "Beneath this sod, the first broken in Oregon for the reception of white mother and child, lie the remains of Ann Maria Pitman Lee." ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
