Came from the latter State to Oregon in 1850, and settled in the Grande Ronde, Polk county, in 1851, remaining there until 1856, when he removed to Amity, Yamhill county. His principal occupation has been farming; but at present he has chosen the less fatiguing duties of notary public and conveyancer. He has three children; Barney D., Olive (Mrs. W. R.
