JAMES D. BURNETT A prominent farmer and stock grower of Round Prairie, Douglas county, is a native of Blunt county, Tenn., and was born March 12, 1822. When 28 years of age he started for the Pacific coast and came to Oregon, first locating in Salem. In 1852 he came to Douglas county and settled on part of his present valuable farm, a view of which appears in this work, to which he has since added until now he owns some 1,200 acres of land. Mr. Burnett was married in Tenn., to Miss Margaret Love, by which union they had seven children, vis: Martha, Francis, Mary, Lydia, Thomas B. and Virginia C. the latter now deceased. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
