PHILIP DA MOTTA This well known tonsorial artist of Roseburg, is a native of the Cape Verde Islands, and some seven years ago came to Roseburg and opened a Barber Shop, when after a few years of close application to business he was enabled to purchase a lot on which he erected his present business building a two story frame structure, the upper part being used by the United States Signal Service, while the lower part he has fitted up in an elegant manner as a Barber Shop and Bath rooms. Mr. DaMotta has invested in land from time to time in the vicinity of Roseburg until he owns some 1,500 acres located on the Deer creek valley road. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
