ROGERS, M.D. The profession of medicine is worthily represented in Junction City by Dr. Richard S. Rogers, who has gained not only a large and representative practice but has also won a high place in public esteem. He was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood county, Wisconsin, in 1892, and is a son of Samuel R. and Melva (Mobley) Rogers. The father followed the occupation of farming and they are now living in Vancouver, Washington, to which city they moved in 1919. Richard S. Rogers secured his elementary education in the public schools and then matriculated in the medical school of the University of Minnesota, from which he was graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1921. He served his interneship in the Evangelical hospital, at Bismarck, North Dakota, and engaged in the practice of medicine at White Salmon, Washington. Later he moved to Hood River, Oregon, and in November, 1924, came to Junction City, where he has remained to the present time. He conducts a general practice in medicine and surgery and has proven an able and skilled physician, gaining the respect of his professional brethren, as well as the confidence of the public. In 1917 Doctor Rogers was united in marriage to Miss Lois Waite, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and they are the parents of three children, Richard, June and Robert. The Doctor is a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Daughters of Rebekah, the Woodmen of the World and the Pacific Woodmen, and also belongs to the Chamber of Commerce. He maintains professional affiliation with the Lane County Medic Society and the Central Willamette Medical Society, while in his political view he is a republican. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
