THOMAS KAY

     is a resident of Brownsville, Linn County, and superintendent of the
Brownsville Woolen Mills. He was born in Yorkshire, near Leeds, England, in
June, 1838, and came to the United States in 1857. In that year he was married
to Miss Ann Slingsby, and their children are: Fannie, Thomas, Lydia, Sarah,
Henry, Minnie, and Breta.
