THOMAS K. GARDNER A resident of Putnam valley, and engaged in farming is a native of Licking county, Ohio, born May 15, 1843. In 1853 his parents crossed the plains to Oregon and came to Douglas county direct. His parents first settled on the Siuslaw, where they remained until 1860, when they moved to the neighborhood where our subject now resides, five miles west of Drain. Here Thomas K., engaged in farming for himself in which he has been successful, now owning a valuable and well improved farm of 920 acres.
