WILLIAM SAVAGE Born in Oswego County, New York, in 1826; in 1842 moved to Hancock County, Ohio; came to Oregon across the plains, and drove the third wagon of the first train that crossed the Cascade Range, in July, 1846. He settled in Yamhill county; now lives on the Yamhill River, in Polk County, near Sheridan, and his occupation is that of farming and stock-raising. He married Sarah Brown in 1854, and Mary C. Lady in 1883. Their children are -- Edison, Gibson, James, Laura, William, Sarah, Austin, and Irving (deceased).
