JONES Among the young men of Spokane who have been honored by their fellow citizens is Arthur D. Jones, councilman from the fifth ward. Mr. Jones was born in Cass county, Michigan, in 1859. At the age of 11 years he removed to Iowa and later he attended the Iowa State University. After completing his education he taught school in Minnesota for two years when he removed to Chicago, where for five years he occupied a responsible position in the employ of "The Chicago Daily News." Mr. Jones on account of ill health removed to Spokane in 1887. In 1891 he was elected Alderman and in 1892 was re-elected to the same position.
