BEN F. BRAY a native of Pennsylvania, took a claim five miles above Orondo, in the year 1888. His land seemed to be subirrigated, and he raised fine apricots without water. He married Mrs. Mary Shontz, and has a son and daughter. He lived several years at Colville, Washington, but returned to his old place again, and is there at this writing, 1926. When steamboats began to carry grain raised near that country, several warehouses were built at Brays Landing, and Mr. Bray had charge of them. For many years a postoffice at this place served the public. Mrs. Bray being postmistress. The Brays also kept a grocery store.
