Hull, Lindley M., compiler and editor. "A History of Central Washington, Including the Famous Wenatchee, Entiat, Chelan and the Columbia Valleys." Spokane: Press of Shaw & Borden Co., 1929. p. 84. CHARLES DAVIS deceased, who was a stepson of George W. Blair, came to the Wenatchee country in 1883. He soon found a quarter section of land to his liking, but since he was a minor he could not exercise the homestead right. However, his friend William Miliken held the claim for him under the preemption act, and executed a relinquishment in favor of Mr. Davis when that young man reached his twenty-first birthday. In 1889, he was married to Miss Nancy McClure. One child, Isaac, was born to this union. Mr. Davis passed away in the spring of 1890, after a brief illness; a young man of promise and many friendships, his death was a serious loss to the community. ******************* Submitted to the Washington Biographies Project in December 2008 by Diana Smith.
