Hull, Lindley M., compiler and editor. "A History of Central Washington, Including the Famous Wenatchee, Entiat, Chelan and the Columbia Valleys." Spokane: Press of Shaw & Borden Co., 1929. p. 255. JOHN G. MILLER deceased. First and last in Chelan County, there have been Millers, more Millers, then again and again still other Millers; but in this case our subject belonged to the Philip Miller group, and was brother to George J. and Joseph P. Miller. He was a native of Pennsylvania, and came to the Wenatchee country in 1888. In disposition, Mr. Miller was quiet and retiring, but was susceptible to the elevating influences of friendship, and his circle of acquaintances included many warm friends. An outstanding trait in his career was his industry. He was always on good terms with hard work. He mined, prospected, served on government surveys, river improvements, and in the later years of his life gave attention to farming. He owned a ranch in Okanogan County, and some good property in the town of Wenatchee. Physically, Mr. Miller was a strong man and enjoyed robust health, which, however, was no protection against the insidious attacks of influenza. He fell, an early victim, to this scourge, and never recovered, though he made a hard fight to regain his health. He passed away December 16, 1924. Mr. Miller never married. ******************* Submitted to the Washington Biographies Project in October 2010 by Diana Smith.
