McCROSKEY This enterprising young farmer and stock man of the vicinity of Steptoe postoffice, is a native of Tennessee, born June 21, 1870. When he was nine years old his father, J. P. T. McCroskey, brought him to Washington, and they located on what is known as Tennessee flat, three miles southeast of Steptoe postoffice. In that vicinity our subject grew to manhood and was educated in great part, though he completed his educational training in the Colfax Business College. As soon as he had completed his school discipline he turned his attention to farming and the stock business and to these he has devoted himself with assiduity and force ever since. He owns one hundred and sixty acres of fine land, which, under his efficient husbandry, is rapidly being brought to a high state of cultivation and improvement. Mr. McCroskey belongs to one of the most prominent and respected families of the county. In fraternal affiliations he is identified with the M. W. A. and the A. O. U. W. He was married in Garfield July 21, 1894, to Margaret McReynolds, a native of Tennessee; They have three children, Joe P.
