JOHN SIMPSON deceased, a pioneer of 1882, was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1853. He came to America when eighteen or nineteen years old and settled, first in Oregon, but afterwards came to Spokane county and took up a homestead of one hundred and sixty acres of land two miles west of Spokane bridge. He resided on this farm until his death, which occurred in 1893. He was married in Scotland, in 1881, to Miss Margaret Murray, the fruit of their union being four children, namely: Thomas, Nellie, Maggie and Jennie.
