Edwards, Rev. Jonathan. "An Illustrated History of Spokane County, State of Washington." San Francisco: W. H. Lever, 1900. p. 707. THOMAS PREST One of the rising young business men of Spokane, was born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1872, and the first eighteen years of his life were spent in that noted Canadian city. He was a butcher by trade, but on coming west went to work as a miner in the gold region of California. After two years of life in the mining camps, he came to Spokane county and resumed his early occupation. He ran the Idaho market for a while, then opened in partnership with Charles Mulholland at Second and Cedar, where they have a fine market, always well supplied with everything in their line. Mr. Prest is an industrious, energetic young man and one who will succeed in anything he undertakes if success is at all possible. Fraternally, he is affiliated with the Foresters, the Red Men and the Masons. He was married in California, June 9, 1893, to Miss Mary Edwards and they have one child, Thomas. * * * * Submitted to the WA. Bios Project in March 2006 by Diana Smith.
