Hancock William McKinley Hancock, of 770 S.W. Bel Air Drive, Clatskanie, died Nov. 6, 1982, in a Longview hospital. Hancock, 45, a construction laborer at the Trojan Power Plant, died of natural causes. He was born March 30, 1937, in Bland County, VA. He was a retired 20 year Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War and a Clatskanie resident since 1975. Hancock was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints- Ranier Ward. He was also a member of the Laborersí Union, local 320 of Portland, and the Independent Order of Foresters. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Hancock, at home; a son, Mike Hancock, of McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma; a daughter, Linda Hancock of Beaverton, Ore.; his mother, Vena Hancock of Portland; three brothers, Wayne Hancock and Jesse Hancock, both of Portland, and Ronnie Hancock of Salem, Ore.; and a sister, Ethel Ray of Portland. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Rainier. Burial will be in the Hudson Cemetery. Haakinson-Grouix Mortuary of Clatskanie is in charge of the arrangements.
