Guild, brother of the late J.J. Guild, died at his home in Scholls, Ore., April 1 at the age of 83 years. A Scholls resident since 1916, he was the last surviving grandson of Peter Guild, pioneer who crossed the plains in 1847 to settle in the Guilds lake area. In 1882 he moved to Woodland where he attended school, and where he made his first home after marrying Josephine Russell in 1911. He was a member of the Woodland Masonic Lodge 217, and of Scholls Grange 388. Survivors include his wife, Josephine, a daughter, Garnet, of Ames, Iowa, a son Stanley, two granddaughters, Janet and Jeanne, of Hillsboro, Ore., and 20 nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held April 4 at Peg and Saxson Chapel, Beavorton, Ore., and burial at Mountainside Cemetery at Scholls. Relatives attending from this area were Mrs. Lydia Strickland, Mrs. F.M. Davis and Harley Oliver from Woodland. Robert Guild from Vancouver and several cousins from Seattle including Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Cates and Mrs. Carl Schinmar, and Mrs. Jess Landerback of Toledo.
