OBITUARY - MABLE KNIGHT Submitted by: Jenny Tenlen Source: "The Reflector" (Battle Ground, Clark Co., Washington), 15 Feb 2006 MABLE KNIGHT Mable (Monthy) Knight, 82, died Feb. 11, 2006, in Vancouver. Knight was born July 9, 1923, in Howard County, Iowa, lived in Lime Springs, Iowa, 1946-1953, Lynden 1953-1967, and in Woodland the past 34 years. Knight was an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Woodland. She was active in the Republican Womens' Club. She loved to travel and play bridge. She had been chair of the board of the Whatcom County Library and a girl scout leader. She chaired the American Heart Fund and was active in the garden club. She served on the board of the fair in Whatcom County and was active in the Methodist Church in Lynden. She taught school in Iowa. Survivors include widower Harold Knight of Woodland, sons George Knight of Woodland and Fred Knight of Everson, daughter June Jones of Woodland, brothers Charles Monthy and John Monthy, both of Tacoma, sister Ila Hammond of California, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at the Woodland I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with the Woodland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
