C4 Barbara Thom Leathers, a librarian for 38 years, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Vancouver. She was 84. Her husband, Milford, died in 1993. Mrs. Leathers was born April 1, 1918, in Junction City, Ore., and lived in Clark County more than 60 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mary J. Kellar and April Heasley, both of Woodland; one son, Craig T. of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; one sister, Carolyn Berglund of Portland; one brother, A. Kirk Thom of Portland; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leathers was a member of Cowlitz Dairy Wives, Woodland Garden Club and a member of Woodland Presbyterian Church since 1939. She liked reading, gardening and canning. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodland Presbyterian Church. Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground is in charge of arrangements.
