OBITUARY - DEE ROLAND CHAMBERLAIN Submitted by: Leona Johnson, bell_crazy2000 at yahoo dot com Source: "Longview Daily News" newspaper, October 7, 1978 Dee Roland Chamberlain, 86, of Baker, Ore., died Oct. 6, 1978 in a Baker hospital. Born in Mitchell, Ore. on Dec. 5, 1891, Chamberlain moved to Longview in 1924 from Polk County, Ore. He worked for International Paper Co. here for 38 years. After retiring he moved to Crescent City, Calif., before moving to Baker. Survivors include his wife Violet, at home; five sons, Harold of Longview; Allan of Joplin, Mo.; and James, Melvin and Kenneth all of Kelso; three daughters, Ruby Jensen of Clear Lake Oaks, Calif.; Mable Ellingson of Roy, Wash.; and Pauline Froehlich of Kent, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Ruby Brodbeck of Baker; two stepsons, Claude Collins of Hanna, Wyo; and Tom Collins of Crescent City, Calif; and 36 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. tuesday at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Willie Millus officiating. Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
