Cochran, 46, who died Saturday morning of self-inflicted gunshot wounds at his home at box 97, Hayes Rt. Cochran had been in considerable pain since a February head wound. His death was discovered by his widow, Nona. He had been employed by Woodland Tie Mill, and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Cochran was born April 13, 1912 in Woodland. Other survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Caroline James, Alaska, and Virginia Cochran, Woodland; two sons, Edmund and Vernon, Woodland; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Jennie Cochran, of Woodland; three sisters, Marie Smith, Woodland, Myrtle Cochran of Portland and Mrs. Augusta Perrott, Rockaway, Ore. The services were conducted at the Woodland Christian church with Elders Estel Richardson and Calvin Hartnell officiating. Burial followed in Hayes Cemetery. Woodland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
