BRYANT Submitted by: Vikki, VGDriver1 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, Thursday, 31 Jan 1957 Bryant Funeral Held Wednesday Funeral services were conducted in the Woodland Presbyterian Church Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 for Mrs. Elizabeth M. Bryant, 71, who died at the family home Monday morning. Mrs. Bryant had resided in Woodland for 51 years, and was the wife of Woodland mayor, Earle Bryant. She was born July 26, 1885 in Portland. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Bethany White Shrine of Vancouver, Cowlitz County Order of the Eastern Star Past Matrons and the Woodland VFW auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Earle, she is survived by: four sons, Walter F. of Woodland, F. Stuart of Portland, H. Jean of Ariel and R. Bruce of Ridgefield; a daughter, Mrs. Harriet M. Shore, Everett; a sister, Mrs. Frieda McKay, Kirkland; and 12 grandchildren. The services were conducted by the Rev. Walter Peterson. Private committal followed at Portland Memorial Crematorium. Pallbearers were Walter Hansen, Abe Martin, William Mills, Millard Hamblen, Lenus Boys (??) and Clifford Knight. John Hannam was soloist, accompanied by his wife at the organ.
