Johnson, 86, resident here for 67 years, died Saturday at Cedar Ledge Nursing Home at LaCenter. He had been ill for several years, and had been in the nursing home for two months. He was born Jan. 17, 1867 at Clinton, Illinois. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Johnson, came to Castle Rock Dec. 7, 1888 and took up a homestead on the west side. Before his illness, Mr. Johnson was sexton at the Hubbard Cemetery. The survivors are his wife, Ethel; three daughters, Mrs. Gussie Corkery, of Seattle; Mrs. Lizzie Pitchford, of Toutle, and Mrs. Oradell Swabes, of Longview; two step-daughters, Mrs. Josephine Hockett, of Chico, California, and Mrs. Geraldine Gould, of Cornelius, Oregon; twelve grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the family plot in the Whittle Cemetery. Rev. Ernest Moore officiated. The pallbearers were E. H. Johnson, Jack Hubbard, Charles Haug, and August Hanson. The Hubbard Funeral Home was in charge.
