OBITUARY - AUGUST MICHAEL WODAEGE Submitted by: Judy Card, JCard20983 at aol dot com Source: "Lewis River News," Woodland, Cowlitz Co., WA, 19 Jan 1956 Wodaege Services Held Tuesday Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Fellowship Tabernacle for August Michael Wodaege, who passed away at the family home Jan. 18. Pastor Rose Fidler officiated. Mrs. Ben Bradburn was the soloist singing “Sweet Bye and Bye” and “In the Garden” and Mrs. Robert Bays and Mrs. Albert Insel Jr., singing “God, Lead Us Along.” Mrs. Roy Becker accompanied a the piano. Pall bearers were nephews of the deceased and included Joe Wodaege, Carl Wodaege, Clyde Wodaege, Loren Wodaege, Edgar Lokay and Frank Jenkins. Mr. Wodaege was born March 4, 1866 in Freeman, Germany. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Woodland area for 75 years. He was a charter member of the Woodland Grange. He is survived by his widow Sophie of Woodland; three daughters, Mrs. Hilda Wishmna of Geraldine, Mont., Mrs. Emma Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska and Miss Marie Wodaege of Woodland; one son Otto of Woodland; three brothers, Abe of Woodland, Mose of St. Helens and Joe of Salem, Ore.; two sisters Mrs. Mattie Howe and Mrs. Gussie Howe both of Portland and 10 grandchildren. Cremation followed at the Rose City Crematorium with Woodland Funeral home in charge.
