Place NE, Kalama, died Mar 30, 1962 in Kalama. He was born Sept 30, 1911 in Kalama. He was the town marshall for the past year and a half, and a fireman for 32 years, 16 of them as Chief. He was civil defense director during the 1948 flood, a commercial fisherman and a member of the Kalama Odd Fellows Lodge. Mr Laroy is survived by his wife, Helen at home, three sons, Ross Jr. of Kalama, and Curtis and Brian both at home; one grandson; two brothers, Edgar of Portland, and Harold of Kalama; one sister, Mrs Basil Hobart, of Kalama; and his mother, Mrs Hilda Laroy of Kalama. Services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Kalama Methodist Church, the Rev Murray Hyde officiating. Graveside services will be conducted by the Kalama Odd Fellows Lodge. Interment will be in the Kalama Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Home is in charge.
