Margye Helen Harrison, 90 of Kelso, passed away March 15, 2007 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born April 14, 1916 in Bellingham, WA to Forrest and Evelyn Wines. Margye was the 17th of 18 children. The Wines family moved to Kelso in 1921. Margye married Jim Farnsworth and had 5 children. Later she married Ray Harrison who had 3 children and they had 2 children together. There are 5 deceased children, Charles Harrison, Jim Farnsworth, Caroline Tompkins, Larry Farnsworth, and Chet Farnsworth. The remaining adult children are Jerry Farsworth of Lebanon, Oregon, Alma Harrison Klepper of Longview, Reva (Peggy) Thompson, Ray Harrison, and Charlotte Harrison Coulter, all of Kelso. Margye had 42 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Margye worked at Long Bell for several years and then decided to go to barber college. She and her sister, Ruth Osborne, opened a barber shop becoming the 1st women barbers in Kelso. Margye was always aware of Our Lord and Savior and came to saving grace in 1971 at Kelso Gospel Tabernacle. She actively attended Rainier Assembly of God until her health grew worse. Margye was always open and loving in her life and profession, giving to the community through hair cuts for the Toutle River Boys Ranch, the Kelso High football team, and nursing homes. She never knew a stranger; her home was always open with a meal on the table. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Rainier Assembly of God with Pastor Garry Siegenthaler officiating. Viewing will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Columbia Funeral Service
