OBITUARY: DORIS JANE (MCLEAN) HARRISON Submitted by: Cathy Cadd, cathycadd -at- msn.com Source: "The Daily News", Longview, Cowlitz Co., Washington. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Doris Jane Harrison (McLean), 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior March 5, 2009. She was born March 4, 1945, to Walter and Liela (Blankenship) McLean in Kiowa, Okla. She moved to Longview at the age of seven and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1963. Doris was a Sunday school teacher, superintendent and elementary educator at Zion Education Center for eight years. She went on to serve as district manager of circulation for The Daily News until retiring in 2007. Doris loved Jesus Christ and dedicated her life as a witness for him to her family, friends and all who met her. She also enjoyed taking trips in her fifth-wheel, as well as abroad. She liked reading, church, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and socializing with her friends. On May 21, 1966, she married Ray Henry Harrison in Kelso. He survives her at home. Also surviving are three sons and their spouses, R. Alan and Melody Harrison of Longview, Bruce E. and Cara Harrison of Castle Rock and John D. Harrison of Kelso; a daughter, T. Elaine and her husband, Hassan Salmi in Texas; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Garrett, McKenna, Charlie, Logan, Ian, Andy, Josh, Evan and Aisha; and numerous additional family members and friends. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Violet "Dean" Hayes and Walma "Earlene" Bailey. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rainier Assembly of God, 74950 Rockcrest Road. Pastors Garry Siegenthaler and Jeff McCracken will officiate.
