Parsons Dies Death has again entered our community and claimed one of our citizens, Charles L. Parsons. He had been sick for some time and bedfast for nearly nine months, with tuberculosis. He was born in Hickory county, Missouri, February 7, 1887, died November 9, 1918, aged 31 years, eight months, and two days. He was married to Miss Zepha Mendenhall at Portland January 15, 1910. There were born to this union four children, who with the wife, father, mother, three brothers, and one sister mourn the departed. Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Parsons of Carrolls and has lived in Cowlitz county since early childhood on the farm then owned near Stella by the family. Mr. Parsons was converted nearly four years ago, and united with the Baptist Church until his death. He loved his church and among his last requests was that if permitted his funeral be held at the church. The services will be at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. D. E. Baker, with burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. On account of the quarantine, the funeral service will be conducted at the Marx Chapel." NOTE: The surviving children of Charles Leverett Parsons were three daughters, Cordilia Emily Parsons, Clara Marie Parsons, Leona Rae Parsons, and one son, Charles Lyle Parsons
