Clark, Robert Carlton, Ph.D. "History of the Willamette Valley Oregon." Vol. 2. Chicago: Chapman Publishing Company, 1927. p. 117. BERT T. FORD Bert T. Ford, though one of the younger members of the bar at Salem, has gained prestige as an able and erudite lawyer and has built up a fine clientele. Well educated and keeping in close touch with the latest laws and court decisions, he is regarded as one of the most efficient attorneys in the community and commands the respect of all who have been associated with him in legal affairs. Mr. Ford is a native of Salem, born May 28, 1895, and is a son of Thomas K. and Catherine Ford. The family came to Salem in 1890 and the father and son are now engaged in the brokerage and loan business here. Bert T. Ford received his early education in the public schools and entered Leland Stanford, Jr., University, from which he was graduated, with the degree of Bachelor of Arts on January 9, 1920. Having determined to devote his life to the practice of law, he entered the law school of Willamette University, where he was graduated in June, 1923. Since 1923 he has been engaged in the practice of law in Salem, specializing in property law, in which he has met with well merited success. On October 17, 1925, Mr. Ford was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Griffith, of Salem. He is a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the American Legion and the Country Club, and also is affiliated with the Marion County Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Association. He is a veteran of the World war, having enlisted in 1918 in the United States sanitation department, in which he served until the close of the war. He gives his political support to the republican party. Straightforward and unassuming in all the relations of life, he has earned a high place in the regard of his fellowmen throughout the community and what he has already accomplished argues well for the future. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
