"An Illustrated history of Baker, Grant, Malheur and Harney Counties : with a brief outline of the early history of the state of Oregon." Chicago?: Western Historical Pub. Co., 1902. Page 305. Baker County. FRANK LOENNIG This prosperous young farmer and stockraiser of the neighborhood situated about six miles west of Haines post office has the distinction of being a native of the county he is now helping to develop, having been born on Willow creek, four miles northwest of the present Haines, on November 5, 1867. His parents, Arnst and Marie Loennig, were pioneers of the county of the year 1863. Our subject lived with them until 1894, then purchased the place on which he now lives, three hundred and twenty acres. To the cultivation and improvement of this he has devoted himself energetically since, with the result that he has some very excellent improvements, and that an air of thrift is everywhere perceptible about the premises. Mr. Loennig is one of the substantial citizens of the county, belonging to that class which though not ambitions for personal aggrandizement or political preferment, or for leadership of any kind, are yet the real strength of any community, the earnest of its future progress. On June 8, 1897, at his father's home on Willow creek, our subject married Miss Emma E., a native of Kansas, and daughter of Philip P. and Wilamina Lang, and to their union three children have been born, namely, Erna June and Franklin Lang, and an infant. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
