ISAAC COOK Was born in Ohio, October 3, 1828, but at 2 years of age was taken by his parents to Indiana, and not long afterwards to Vermillion county, Illinois, where he resided until 1852. In the spring of that year he crossed the plains to Oregon and arrived in Lane county in 1853. Having resided until 1860 on a farm three miles west of Eugene City, he purchased his present property,consisting of three hundred and twenty acres, to which he has since added one hundred and thirty acres more, all of which is about a fourth of a mile from Junction City, where our subject is recognized to be one of the responsible citizens of that portion of the county. A view of his residence will be found in this work. Mr. Cook married in Lane county, firstly,Miss Lucinda Perry, who died while on a visit to Illinois in 1870. By this union there were five children, those surviving being: William W., Joseph M. and Ruth A.; Benjamin F. and Emma M. are deceased. He espoused, secondly ,in Eugene City,Mrs. Minerva Wycuff, and has five children living, viz: Charlie R., Mary E., Clyde C., Paul and Ermal. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
