JACOB HOOVER

     Born in Green County, Kentucky, in 1814; lived in Indiana, Illinois, and
Missouri prior to his arrival in Oregon.  His first place of residence in this
state was near Glencoe, Washington County.  His present residence is one mile
south of Glencoe, and occupation farmer.  He has been a constant resident of
Washington County for forty years, and, with the exception of four years spent
as county treasurer, has remained on his farm.  He married Malinda Cave in 1843,
and their children's names are -- Thomas, Jackson, Jacob, Harriet, and Lucretia.
