Among the representative professional men and influential citizens of Albany stands Dr. James H. Robnett, who has successfully practiced medicine here for many years and stands high in public esteem. He was born in Linn county, Oregon, and is a son of William and Mary (Pearl) Robnett. His paternal grandfather, William Robnett, was a native of Missouri, from which state he crossed the plains to Oregon in 1847 and settled in Linn county, near Crawfordsville, where he took up a donation claim and devoted his efforts to agricultural pursuits. The maternal grandfather, James Pearl, came to this state in 1852, and took up a donation claim near Halsey, Linn county. Dr. Robnett's parents were married in Oregon and the father followed farming during his active life, but both are now deceased. James H. Robnett attended the public and high schools of this county and then matriculated in Willamette University, being graduated from the medical department in 1900, with the degree of Doctor of Medicine, having taken three years in art work and the full course in medicine. He served as interne in the Salem Hospital and then went to Union county, this state, where for two years he was engaged in the practice of his profession, followed by one year in Morrow county. He then became a member of the medical staff of the Oregon State Hospital at Salem, where he remained nine years, at the end of which time he came to Albany, where he has continued to the present time, building up a large and lucrative practice. He carries on general practice of medicine and surgery, though specializing in orthopedics, paying particular attention to the feet and arches. He is a member of the medical staff of the Albany General Hospital. Well educated, keeping in close touch with the latest advance in the healing art, he has gained a wide reputation for his success in combatting human ailments and is numbered among the leading physicians of Linn county.
