JOHN M. GARRISON, A.M.

     Born in Atchison County, Missouri, in 1845, and brought to Yamhill County,
Oregon, the next year.  His father settled near Amity, and was a farmer.  The
son was educated at the Willamette University, Salem, graduating in 1866.  Is
now a teacher of penmanship.  Married Miss Mary Blank, of Forest Grove, in
January, 1876.
