MORSS The subject of this sketch, a view of whose residence will be found in this volume, was born in Dearborn county, Indiana, August 26, 1833. Having crossed the plains and survived the hardships attendant on the journey, he arrived in Lane county in September, 1853, and embarked in agricultural pursuits, he being now residing in the vicinity of the thriving little village of Creswell where he has surrounded himself with the comforts that come as a reward after a long life of energetic toil. He married in Lane county, March 6, 1859, Miss Caroline M. Knox, a native of Hancock county, Illinois, who was born March 1, 1840, and has two children, viz: Samuel Benjamin and Sherman Stocton. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
