JOHN W. MELDRUM

     Born near Burlington, Iowa, December 17, 1839; and came to Oregon with his
parents in 1845.  Resides near Oregon City, and is a farmer and deputy U. S.
surveyor.  Married Miss Georgia Pope, and there were born to them -- Charles E.,
Willie (deceased), Eva S., and D. Thompson.
