Brady is a native of the state of Indiana, born on the 17th of November, 1856, and is a son of B. M. and Jane (Jackson) Brady, the former a farmer and stock raiser. R. 0. Brady was reared to farm life and secured his educational training in the public and high schools of his native state. He remained with his father until 1895, when he came to the Willamette Valley, and entered the employ of the Southern Pacific Railroad, with which he served a number of years as clerk and baggage master. In 1900 he took charge of a farm for R. R. Hays, who, on his death, in 1907. left the farm to Mr. Brady, who has operated it to the present time. He maintains the place at a high standard of excellence in every respect, the well cultivated fields and the general appearance of the place indicating him to be a man of intelligent methods and good taste. He carries on diversified farming and bountiful crops have rewarded his industry and well directed efforts. Mr. Brady has been married twice, his first wife having been Miss Laura Hill, a daughter of James and Jane (Rogers) Hill. In 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Lola Thompson, a daughter of A. J. and Anna (Cosner) Thompson, and whose death occurred on June 9, 1925. In his political views Mr. Brady is a democrat and has been active in affairs affecting the progress and welfare of his locality. He served several terms as a member of the school board. He is a member of the Knights of Pythias. Because of his earnest life, his sterling qualities, his neighborliness and uniform courtesy, he has well earned the high place which he has long held in the confidence and good will of his fellow citizens throughout his section of the county. ******************* Submitted to the Oregon Bios.
