After his arrival he lived in Oregon City two years; then moved to Yamhill County and settled on the land where the McMinnville College now stands; he still owns part of the claim. Married Miss Mahala Arthur in 1845, and has had eight children, five of whom are deceased. The living are -- Lucretia, Pleasant, and Auburn L.
