     Born in Missouri in 1830; came to Oregon and settled in Washington County,
and now lives in the same county near Dilley, and is a farmer by occupation.  He
married Amanda Grubb in 1852, and their children's names are -- Mary I.,
Thompson, James W., Woodson V., Thomas G., Lizzie J., John F., Avara G., Alonzo
