The History of the Yakima Valley, Washington, Comprising Yakima, Kittitas and Benton Counties, The S.J. Clarke Publishing Co., 1919, Volume II, page 781 FRANK M. CRABB. Frank M. Crabb dates his residence in Yakima county from 1894 but has been a resident of Washington since 1875, when the family home has established in Clarke county, this state. He was born in Coles county, Illinois, March 27, 1864, a son of Stephen and Mary Crabb, who were natives of Indiana and of Illinois respectively. The father came to Clarke county, Washington, in 1875, his wife having passed away in Illinois in 1867, when her son Frank was but three years of age. Following his removal to the west the father carried on general farming in Clarke county, Washington, where he continued to make his home until his death, which occurred in January, 1916. Frank M. Crabb acquired a public school education in Washington, having been a lad of but eleven years when the family home was established in this state. When his textbooks were put aside he began working for wages and was thus employed until 1889, when he purchased a thirty-acre ranch in Clarke county, which he further developed and improved until 1894, when he sold the property and removed to Yakima county. Here he worked for wages until January, 1906, when he purchased ten acres of land on the lower Naches and later bought eleven acres more. He now has an orchard of two acres, while the remainder of his place is devoted to the raising of hay, corn and other farm crops. He also has a fine dairy and keeps high-grade Holstein cattle. The various branches of his business are carefully managed and are proving very profitable. On the 3d of June, 1903, Mr. Crabb was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Hall, who was born in Shelby county, Illinois, a daughter of W. F. and Matilda (Warner) Hall. They have an adopted son, Albert H., who is now twenty-one years of age. Mr. and Mrs. Crabb are members of the Congregational church, are loyal to its teachings and take an active interest in its work. In politics Mr. Crabb is a republican and he has served on the school board and on the ditch board. He is a publicspirited citizen, interested in everything that has to do with the welfare and progress of the community, and any protect for public benefit always receives his endorsement and support. ******************************** Submitted to the Washington Bios Project in January 2008 by Jeffrey L.
