An Illustrated History of the State of Washington, by Rev. H.K. Hines, D.D., The Lewis Publishing Co., Chicago, IL., 1893, pages 433-434 H.H. ST. JOHN, general agent for the Great Northern Railroad, is one of the many shrewd business men who have recently taken up their abode in Spokane, Washington. The Great Northern completed their line into Spokane about the first of June, 1892, and August 15 established their quarters here. Mr. St. John had been in the employ of the company about thirteen years at Grand Forks, North Dakota, and they, knowing full well his natural ability and special fitness for the position, removed him to their office in this stirring place. He has at heart the interests of the company he so thoroughly represents and will do all in his power to advance the interests of the road and make it a popular one. Submitted to the WA.
