Hull, Lindley M., compiler and editor. "A History of Central Washington, Including the Famous Wenatchee, Entiat, Chelan and the Columbia Valleys." Spokane: Press of Shaw & Borden Co., 1929. p. 183. MR. and MRS. J. J. ALBIN were both natives of Mississippi. Tradition has it that the progenitor of the Albins of America came from Ireland, but at a time so remote as to render the date uncertain. The following children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Albin: J. R., H. R., J. S., and H. O., or, generally known to their friends as Rayburn, Riley, Joe and Henry, the last named now living in Malaga where he operates an orchard tract. The girls were known as Alice, Augusta and Mary. About the year 1868, the Albins removed to Texas, where they lived twenty years, thence going to the Territory of Washington, locating on Nanum Creek near the foothills of Kittitas Valley; there they followed dairying two years. They then settled near Beaver Creek on Badger Mountain. Diversified farming was followed to a certain extent, but cattle raising became the principal industry, which proved to be fairly profitable. In 1903, Mr. Albin disposed of his land holdings and came down to the Wenatchee country where he lived many years and owned several orchard homes. One of these, a ten-acre tract is on Washington Avenue, which he disposed of at a good price before he left Wenatchee Valley. He now lives at Prosser, Washington.
