Attended public schools there and came to America in 1882. Graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill., in 1891. After four years of teaching and one year of postgraduate work at Yale University, he entered upon the preparation for the medical profession in the Northwestern University Medical School at Chicago and was here graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1899. He then practiced for three years in Texas. He removed to Tacoma in 1903 and has remained here continuously since. He is married to Hannah Morris, born in Pennsylvania.
