PARMETER proprietor of a feed store at 0803 Monroe street, was born in the state of New York in 1835. He lived there until twenty-two years of age, engaged, after he became old enough, in farming. In 1857 he removed to Minnesota, where, he was engaged in farming continuously for the ensuing thirty-three years. During the last four he also maintained a hotel. Coming to Spokane in 1890, he at once received an appointment as special policeman and so satisfactory were his services that in 1891 he was placed on the regular force. He discharged his duties with great faithfulness until May, 1899, then resigned and opened his present business. Mr. Parmeter is one of the substantial and respected citizens of Spokane and enjoys the confidence and good will of all who know him.
