Hull, Lindley M., compiler and editor. "A History of Central Washington, Including the Famous Wenatchee, Entiat, Chelan and the Columbia Valleys." Spokane: Press of Shaw & Borden Co., 1929. p. 86. THOMAS DOAK The subject of this sketch came to Wenatchee Valley about the year 1882. Efforts have been made to learn what state he came from but without success. His selection of land was along the Columbia River, most of which is now in the city of Wenatchee including the northern end of Columbia Street, the City Pumping Plant and much of the ground below the tracks. Early in 1887 Mr. Doak married Mrs. Nellie Curry. One child was born to this marriage. In 1889 Mr. Doak sold his property to the Wenatchee Development Company and moved to the Okanogan country, where he soon died. ******************* Submitted to the Washington Biographies Project in April 2008 by Diana Smith.
