OBITUARY - LUCIUS DOBLE Submitted by: Jan Redelsperger, jansperger at gmail dot com Source: "Kelsonian Newspaper," Kelso, Cowlitz Co., Washington, February 1906 Lucius Doble Lucius Doble, died at his home in Catlin, Saturday, February 10th, 1906, aged 81 years, 5 months and 3 days. Mr. Doble was born in Sumner, Maine, on September 7th, 1824, and was married to Miss Jemima Knight September 7th, 1851. In 1868 they removed to Illinois, thence to Iowa in 1870, where they buried their oldest son. From Iowa, they moved to Washington in 1892 and located in Cowlitz County, where they have since resided. To this union were born eight children, seven of whom are living all being with us except one, who is now at Amity Colorado. Those residing here are: Ernest and A. L. Doble, Mrs. G. A. Poland, Mrs. W. C. Patterson, Mrs. J. C. Patton and Mrs. E. E. Griswold. Mr. Doble united with the church about thirty years ago and has always lived a consistent Christian Life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. Elwell in the Catlin Presbyterian church, Sunday, February 11th, at 1 o'clock p.m., after which the remains were laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
