A4:3 Bertha Doble Bertha Doble, 94, of Longview, died Feb. 9, 1989, in a local nursing home. The daughter of pioneers Lon Lapham and Katherine Lull, she was born Oct. 2, 1894, in Toutle. She graduated from Castle Rock High School and became a schoolteacher in Toledo and Carrolls. Mrs. Doble was a member of Castle Rock Methodist Church and active in the Castle Rock Methodist women's group. She also raised numerous foster children. Mrs. Doble was preceded in death by her husband, Milo Doble, in 1958. She is survived by two sons, Bud Doble of Seattle and Robert Doble of Apache Junction, Ariz; two sisters, Alta Smith of Longview and Iris Hautala of Mesa, Ariz., four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Whittle-Hubbard Cemetery. The casket will remain closed.
