OBITUARY - JOHN L. DOBLE Submitted by: Jan Redelsperger, jansperger at gmail dot com Source: "Longview Daily News," Longview, Cowlitz Co., Washington, February 1957 Doble - John L. 69, 203 Crawford St., Kelso, died Feb. 19 at a Vancouver hospital. Born May 16, 1887 at Sac City, Iowa, he lived in this area for 50 years. Mr. Doble was a millwright and a carpenter at Longview Fibre Co. for 26 years before his recent retirement. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Kelso Elks, Kelso Eagles, and Kelso American Legion Post. Survivors include the widow, Birdie; one son, Lincoln of Kelso; one sister, Mrs. Bessie LaPlant of Kelso; one brother, Wilbert of Kelso; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Ditlevsen-Moore Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Laurie officiating. Interment will be in the Cowlitz Memorial Gardens.
