Mooney, 91, who died at a local nursing home, June 28, were held at the graveside at Friends Cemetery, Saturday afternoon. Pastor Alan Solmonson of the Zion Lutheran Church officiated. The Brown Funeral Home was in charge. A native of Missouri, he was born March 8, 1887, the son of Henry and Evelyn Mooney. He worked as a riverboat operator on the Columbia River for many years and later for Weyerhaeuser Corporation lumber mills. On May 23, 1932, at Kelso Wash., he was united in marriage to Opal Rose Hesedahl, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert Mooney, Para Maribo, Surinam, South America; two daughters, Patricia Evans, Poulsbo, Wash., and Ethel Crump, Woodland, Calif; a brother, Ray Mooney, Portland and two stepsons, J. C. and H. L. Hesedahl, Newberg.
