Marsh has ordered an inquest Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock to investigate the death of James Poland, 73, pioneer Carrolls Point resident. Poland was struck and fatally injured by a state patrol car driven by Patrolman W. A. (Bill) Kellogg late Thursday night. The accident occurred on the Pacific highway at Carrolls Point. Marsh said he had postponed the inquest from today until Monday so that members of the Poland family could be in attendance. Funeral service for Poland will be held on Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Ditlevsen funeral home in Kelso with Rev. Phillip Laurie officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant cemetery. The casket will not be opened at the services. Friends may call at the funeral parlor prior to the services.
